Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Hauptweg Und Nebenwege by Michiel Ceulers was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 5,625.00 (€ 5,039.42). Admittedly, works by Michiel Ceulers have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work In Search of Image Nation: A Promise of the Status Quo in October 2014 with an auction result of GBP 18,750.00 (€ 23,941.04).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Hauptweg Und Nebenwege von Michiel Ceulers im September 2015 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 5.625,00 (€ 5.039,42) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Michiel Ceulers auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit In Search of Image Nation: A Promise of the Status Quo im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.750,00 (€ 23.941,04).
