Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2009 a collector was able to acquire the work Lake by Michael Steiner for USD 6,250.00 (€ 4,713.07). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Michael Steiner have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in July 2011 by the work Lycus at USD 10,625.00 (€ 7,410.38).
