Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2005 a collector was able to acquire the work Large Mahogany with Holes by Mel Kendrick for USD 5,040.00 (€ 4,179.80). This price was achieved in the auction first open Post-War and Contemporary Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Mel Kendrick have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Black Dots) in March 2017 with an auction result of USD 25,000.00 (€ 23,368.85).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2005 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Large Mahogany with Holes von Mel Kendrick für USD 5.040,00 (€ 4.179,80) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion first open Post-War and Contemporary Art bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mel Kendrick auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Black Dots) im März 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 23.368,85).
