This artwork by Mel Kendrick achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in September 2017. In the The Collection of Edward Albee auction, the work without title sold for USD 9,375.00 (€ 7,936.17) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mel Kendrick - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Black Dots), which sold at auction in March 2017 for USD 25,000.00 (€ 23,368.85).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Mel Kendrick erzielte im September 2017 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Collection of Edward Albee wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 9.375,00 (€ 7.936,17) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Mel Kendrick mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Black Dots) beobachtet, die im März 2017 für USD 25.000,00 (€ 23.368,85) versteigert wurde.
