In March last year Christies in London held the auction 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale, which included the work Arcadia by Matthew Wong. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 604,800.00 (€ 717,058.47), 73% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Matthew Wong have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Night Watcher in May last year with an auction result of USD 5,897,150.00 (€ 5,495,433.79).

Im März letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Arcadia von Matthew Wong zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 604.800,00 (€ 717.058,47) und damit 73% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Matthew Wong auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Night Watcher im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.897.150,00 (€ 5.495.433,79).
