Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work "Organizational Legend" by Matt Mullican was auctioned at Bukowski in Stockholm in April last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of SEK 25,000.00 – 30,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for SEK 15,000.00 (€ 1,452.03). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Matt Mullican achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in September 2005 with an auction result of USD 45,600.00 (€ 37,817.22).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit "Organizational Legend" von Matt Mullican im April letzten Jahres bei Bukowski in Stockholm versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von SEK 25.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für SEK 15.000,00 (€ 1.452,03) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Matt Mullican erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im September 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 45.600,00 (€ 37.817,22).
