Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (World) by Matt Mullican was auctioned at Sothebys in Milan in July 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 6,300.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Matt Mullican have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in September 2005 with an auction result of USD 45,600.00 (€ 37,817.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (World) von Matt Mullican kam im Juli 2021 bei Sothebys in Mailand zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 6.300,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Matt Mullican auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im September 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 45.600,00 (€ 37.817,22).
