Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Mensaje by Mathias Goeritz was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in June 2020. Here, the upper estimate of USD 220,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 225,000.00 (€ 200,338.35). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mathias Goeritz - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mensaje, which sold at auction in November 2015 for USD 466,000.00 (€ 441,204.32).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Mensaje von Mathias Goeritz kam im Juni 2020 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 220.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 225.000,00 (€ 200.338,35) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Mathias Goeritz mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mensaje beobachtet, die im November 2015 für USD 466.000,00 (€ 441.204,32) versteigert wurde.
