Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Day Auction, which included the work Ensayo no. 1 by Mathias Goeritz. The price achieved of USD 100,800.00 (€ 89,306.28) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 90,000.00 – 120,000.00. Admittedly, works by Mathias Goeritz have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mensaje in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 466,000.00 (€ 441,204.32).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ensayo no. 1 von Mathias Goeritz zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 100.800,00 (€ 89.306,28) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 90.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mathias Goeritz auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mensaje im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 466.000,00 (€ 441.204,32).
