Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mensaje by Mathias Goeritz was auctioned at Christies in New York in July 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 125,000.00 (€ 106,166.13) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Mathias Goeritz have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mensaje in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 466,000.00 (€ 441,204.32).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Mensaje von Mathias Goeritz kam im Juli 2020 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 120.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 125.000,00 (€ 106.166,13) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mathias Goeritz auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mensaje im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 466.000,00 (€ 441.204,32).
