Upper estimate price exceeded by 53 %.
In September last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Prints & Multiples, which included the work Namiyo at Hanauma Bay by Masami Teraoka. The »bidding war« ended at USD 3,825.00 (€ 3,909.84), 53% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Masami Teraoka achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Cloisters Venus and Pope's Workout in November 2009 with an auction result of HKD 4,820,000.00 (€ 414,685.87).
