Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Desert Oasis by Martiros Sergeevich Saryan was sold in the Important Russian Art auction at Sothebys in London in May 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 300,000.00 – 500,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 325,250.00 (€ 405,247.19) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Martiros Sergeevich Saryan have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2012 the work The Poet (On The Foothills Of Aragats) was auctioned for GBP 623,650.00 (€ 768,273.52).
