Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera by Martin Munkácsi was sold in the Photographs auction at Phillips in New York in April last year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 30,240.00 (€ 28,698.87). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Martin Munkácsi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Die Solotänzerin "Gerda Juré", Städtische Oper, Berlin, Vers 1930, which sold at auction in November 2015 for EUR 97,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera von Martin Munkácsi wurde im April letzten Jahres in der Auktion Photographs bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 30.240,00 (€ 28.698,87) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Martin Munkácsi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Die Solotänzerin "Gerda Juré", Städtische Oper, Berlin, Vers 1930 beobachtet, die im November 2015 für EUR 97.500,00 versteigert wurde.
