Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2018 Sothebys in Paris held the auction Photographs Online, which included the work Untitled (Baigneuses), Circa 1930 by Martin Munkácsi. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 5,250.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Martin Munkácsi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Die Solotänzerin "Gerda Juré", Städtische Oper, Berlin, Vers 1930 in November 2015 with an auction result of EUR 97,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2018 führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion Photographs Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Baigneuses), Circa 1930 von Martin Munkácsi zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 5.250,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Martin Munkácsi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Die Solotänzerin "Gerda Juré", Städtische Oper, Berlin, Vers 1930 im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 97.500,00.
