This artwork by Martin Munkácsi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in February this year. In the The Collection of André Leon Talley: Online auction, the work Diana Vreeland, 1935 sold for USD 2,772.00 (€ 2,614.60) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Martin Munkácsi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Die Solotänzerin "Gerda Juré", Städtische Oper, Berlin, Vers 1930 in November 2015 with an auction result of EUR 97,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Martin Munkácsi erzielte im Februar diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Collection of André Leon Talley: Online wurde die Arbeit Diana Vreeland, 1935 für USD 2.772,00 (€ 2.614,60) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Martin Munkácsi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Die Solotänzerin "Gerda Juré", Städtische Oper, Berlin, Vers 1930 im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 97.500,00.
