Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Tiger Act, Berlin, Scala by Martin Munkácsi was auctioned at Phillips in New York in October 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,190.00 (€ 7,089.68) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Martin Munkácsi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Die Solotänzerin "Gerda Juré", Städtische Oper, Berlin, Vers 1930 in November 2015 with an auction result of EUR 97,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Tiger Act, Berlin, Scala von Martin Munkácsi kam im Oktober 2021 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.190,00 (€ 7.089,68) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Martin Munkácsi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Die Solotänzerin "Gerda Juré", Städtische Oper, Berlin, Vers 1930 im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 97.500,00.
