Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Choosing A Tie by Martin Maloney was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Auction auction at Christies in London in June 2011. It changed hands for a price of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,605.91) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Martin Maloney - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled Portrait (Jerry), which sold at auction in February 2007 for USD 20,400.00 (€ 15,419.50).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Choosing A Tie von Martin Maloney wurde im Juni 2011 in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Auction bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 7.605,91) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Martin Maloney mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled Portrait (Jerry) beobachtet, die im Februar 2007 für USD 20.400,00 (€ 15.419,50) versteigert wurde.
