Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2020 Phillips in London held the auction New Now, which included the work Work No. 43 by Martin Creed. The price achieved of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,182.84) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Martin Creed achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Work No. 204: Half the air in a given space in March 2012 with an auction result of USD 158,500.00 (€ 118,869.06).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2020 führte Phillips in London die Auktion New Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit Work No. 43 von Martin Creed zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.182,84) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Martin Creed erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Work No. 204: Half the air in a given space im März 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 158.500,00 (€ 118.869,06).
