Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Work No. 223 by Martin Creed was auctioned at Phillips in London in July 2020. The price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 13,942.80) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Martin Creed have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Work No. 204: Half the air in a given space in March 2012 with an auction result of USD 158,500.00 (€ 118,869.06).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Work No. 223 von Martin Creed kam im Juli 2020 bei Phillips in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 13.942,80) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Martin Creed auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Work No. 204: Half the air in a given space im März 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 158.500,00 (€ 118.869,06).
