Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Afrocán (12) by Martín Chirino was auctioned at Sothebys in London in February 2020. The price achieved of GBP 62,500.00 (€ 72,437.64) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Martín Chirino - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work El Viento, which sold at auction in June 2021 for EUR 226,800.00.

Die Arbeit Afrocán (12) von Martín Chirino kam im Februar 2020 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 62.500,00 (€ 72.437,64) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Martín Chirino mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit El Viento beobachtet, die im Juni 2021 für EUR 226.800,00 versteigert wurde.
