A top price for Martín Chirino
When the work El Viento by Martín Chirino was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in June 2021, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at - in retrospect quite modest - EUR 30,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than seven times as high at EUR 226,800.00. This high result makes El Viento the most expensive artwork by Martín Chirino that we have observed at auctions so far.

Als die Arbeit El Viento von Martín Chirino im Juni 2021 bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – EUR 30.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit EUR 226.800,00 mehr als siebenmal so hoch. Dieses hohe Ergebnis macht El Viento zu dem teuersten Kunstwerk von Martín Chirino, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
