Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November last year Phillips in New York held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session, which included the work Small Wonder from the series Body Beautiful, or Beauty Knows No Pain by Martha Rosler. Here, the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 22,680.00 (€ 21,970.36). Admittedly, works by Martha Rosler have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bringing The War Home: House Beautiful in May 2006 with an auction result of USD 156,000.00 (€ 121,561.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Small Wonder from the series Body Beautiful, or Beauty Knows No Pain von Martha Rosler zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 20.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 22.680,00 (€ 21.970,36) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Martha Rosler auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Bringing The War Home: House Beautiful im Mai 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 156.000,00 (€ 121.561,60).
