Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work View Over Tompkins Square Park by Mark Innerst was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2014, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 6,250.00 (€ 4,949.32). Admittedly, works by Mark Innerst have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Distant View in May last year with an auction result of USD 35,280.00 (€ 32,876.71).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit View Over Tompkins Square Park von Mark Innerst im September 2014 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 6.250,00 (€ 4.949,32) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mark Innerst auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Distant View im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 35.280,00 (€ 32.876,71).
