Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Mark Innerst was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2009, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 11,250.00 (€ 7,689.68). Admittedly, works by Mark Innerst have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Distant View in May last year with an auction result of USD 35,280.00 (€ 32,876.71).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Mark Innerst im September 2009 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 11.250,00 (€ 7.689,68) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mark Innerst auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Distant View im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 35.280,00 (€ 32.876,71).
