Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cabinet of Curiosities for the Wexner Centre for the Arts by Mark Dion was sold in the The Collection of Melva Bucksbaum: Post-War and Contemporary Art, Photographs and Prints auction at Christies in New York in October 2018. The price achieved of USD 3,750.00 (€ 3,309.21) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mark Dion - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Babel, which sold at auction in March 2018 for USD 15,000.00 (€ 12,175.32).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Cabinet of Curiosities for the Wexner Centre for the Arts von Mark Dion wurde im Oktober 2018 in der Auktion The Collection of Melva Bucksbaum: Post-War and Contemporary Art, Photographs and Prints bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 3.750,00 (€ 3.309,21) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Mark Dion mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Babel beobachtet, die im März 2018 für USD 15.000,00 (€ 12.175,32) versteigert wurde.
