Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Mark Bradford could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in May last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Day Auction auction, the work Harshness and Kindness changed hands for USD 239,400.00 (€ 223,091.98) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mark Bradford achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Helter Skelter I in March 2018 with an auction result of GBP 8,671,500.00 (€ 9,872,981.37).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mark Bradford konnte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Day Auction wechselte die Arbeit Harshness and Kindness für USD 239.400,00 (€ 223.091,98) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 250.000,00 – 350.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mark Bradford erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Helter Skelter I im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.671.500,00 (€ 9.872.981,37).
