Auction result well in line with expectations
The work La Cama by María Berrío was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May last year. The price achieved of USD 478,800.00 (€ 446,183.95) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 400,000.00 – 600,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by María Berrío - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not, which sold at auction in November last year for USD 1,603,000.00 (€ 1,552,843.17).
