Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Marc Desgrandchamps achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2017. In the Contemporary Curated auction, the work without title sold for GBP 22,500.00 (€ 25,540.85) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 10,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Marc Desgrandchamps; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Sans titre sold at auction in May 2008 with the realized price of EUR 35,050.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Marc Desgrandchamps erzielte im November 2017 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Curated wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für GBP 22.500,00 (€ 25.540,85) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 10.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Marc Desgrandchamps; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Sans titre im Mai 2008 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 35.050,00.
