Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Malcolm Morley achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in June this year. In the Editions & Works on Paper auction, the work Beach Scene with Parasailor sold for USD 2,032.00 (€ 1,860.81) - well above the upper estimate of USD 900.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Malcolm Morley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work SS Amsterdam in Front of Rotterdam in June 2015 with an auction result of GBP 1,202,500.00 (€ 1,695,509.91).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Malcolm Morley erzielte im Juni diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Editions & Works on Paper wurde die Arbeit Beach Scene with Parasailor für USD 2.032,00 (€ 1.860,81) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 900,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Malcolm Morley erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit SS Amsterdam in Front of Rotterdam im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.202.500,00 (€ 1.695.509,91).
