This artwork by Makoto Saito achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May 2014. In the Post-War and Contemporary Afternoon Session auction, the work Kubrick Adolescence sold for USD 425,000.00 (€ 311,583.58) - well above the upper estimate of USD 220,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Makoto Saito; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Snow B.B. (No. 20130301) sold at auction in October 2016 with the realized price of HKD 3,200,000.00 (€ 376,573.62).
