In June 2018 Christies in London held the auction Handpicked: 50 Works Selected by the Saatchi Gallery, which included the work Gray Town by Makiko Kudo. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 10,625.00 (€ 12,008.06), 52% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Makiko Kudo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Floating Island, which sold at auction in August 2020 for GBP 22,680.00 (€ 25,414.29).

Im Juni 2018 führte Christies in London die Auktion Handpicked: 50 Works Selected by the Saatchi Gallery durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gray Town von Makiko Kudo zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 10.625,00 (€ 12.008,06) und damit 52% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Makiko Kudo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Floating Island beobachtet, die im August 2020 für GBP 22.680,00 (€ 25.414,29) versteigert wurde.
