This artwork by Louise Fishman achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in June 2021. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session auction, the work Magma sold for USD 65,520.00 (€ 55,300.47) - well above the upper estimate of USD 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Louise Fishman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Burnt Bridges, which sold at auction in March last year for USD 201,600.00 (€ 181,736.23).
