Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Caravan Caught in a Storm Along the Shore by Louis-Gabriel-Eugène Isabey was sold in the Collector, Dealer, Connoisseur: The Vision of Richard L. Feigen auction at Sothebys in New York in October 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 50,400.00 (€ 43,628.81) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Louis-Gabriel-Eugène Isabey - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bateaux échoués (Honfleur, Low Tide), which sold at auction in October 2004 for USD 153,100.00 (€ 120,116.11).
