Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Pêcheurs à marée basse by Louis-Gabriel-Eugène Isabey was auctioned at Christies in New York in April last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 4,788.00 (€ 4,543.99). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis-Gabriel-Eugène Isabey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bateaux échoués (Honfleur, Low Tide) in October 2004 with an auction result of USD 153,100.00 (€ 120,116.11).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Pêcheurs à marée basse von Louis-Gabriel-Eugène Isabey im April letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 4.788,00 (€ 4.543,99) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Louis-Gabriel-Eugène Isabey erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bateaux échoués (Honfleur, Low Tide) im Oktober 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 153.100,00 (€ 120.116,11).
