Auction result well in line with expectations
In March this year Phillips in New York held the auction New Now, which included the work Sala de Lectura Babel (Babel Reading Room) by Los Carpinteros. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,700.00 (€ 11,681.38) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Los Carpinteros - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sala De Lectura Origami, which sold at auction in May 2016 for USD 50,000.00 (€ 44,903.46).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion New Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sala de Lectura Babel (Babel Reading Room) von Los Carpinteros zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 12.700,00 (€ 11.681,38) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Los Carpinteros mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sala De Lectura Origami beobachtet, die im Mai 2016 für USD 50.000,00 (€ 44.903,46) versteigert wurde.
