Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Linked Lingam in Salmon, Gray-Blue, Purple and Yellow by Loie Hollowell was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Christies in New York in November this year. It changed hands for a price of USD 277,200.00 (€ 254,125.41) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 220,000.00 – 280,000.00. Admittedly, works by Loie Hollowell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Linked Lingams (yellow, green, blue, purple, pink) in June 2021 with an auction result of HKD 16,510,000.00 (€ 1,793,414.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Linked Lingam in Salmon, Gray-Blue, Purple and Yellow von Loie Hollowell wurde im November diesen Jahres in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 277.200,00 (€ 254.125,41) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 220.000,00 – 280.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Loie Hollowell auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Linked Lingams (yellow, green, blue, purple, pink) im Juni 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 16.510.000,00 (€ 1.793.414,08).
