Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Liu Heung Shing could be acquired at Phillips in New York in November 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art Part II auction, the work A Hair Salon in Beijing changed hands for USD 1,800.00 (€ 1,357.36) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Liu Heung Shing - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Youths In Siamo, A Hair Salon In Beijing, Workers Removing The Portrait Of Mao, Students In Tiananmen Square (Four Works), which sold at auction in March 2007 for USD 6,000.00 (€ 4,486.32).
