Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The New Hundred Scenes in Shanghai by Liu Dahong was sold in the Contemporary Art Asia: New York Edition auction at Christies in New York in May 2018. The price achieved of USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,568.98) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Liu Dahong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Meeting Hall in November 2010 with an auction result of HKD 2,780,000.00 (€ 274,673.21).
