In April 2011 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Asian Art, which included the work Frost Night by Liu Dahong. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 1,100,000.00 (€ 95,594.09), 38% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Liu Dahong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Meeting Hall, which sold at auction in November 2010 for HKD 2,780,000.00 (€ 274,673.21).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 38 % übertroffen
Im April 2011 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Frost Night von Liu Dahong zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 1.100.000,00 (€ 95.594,09) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Liu Dahong mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Meeting Hall beobachtet, die im November 2010 für HKD 2.780.000,00 (€ 274.673,21) versteigert wurde.
