Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 'The Rock Through A Gap In The Wall From The West Side, Trichinopoly' by Linnaeus Tripe was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in April 2008. The price achieved of USD 27,400.00 (€ 17,600.21) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Linnaeus Tripe have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Views of India, Indonesia and Myanmar (Burma), c. 1858 in September 2017 with an auction result of USD 107,500.00 (€ 91,001.44).

Die Arbeit 'The Rock Through A Gap In The Wall From The West Side, Trichinopoly' von Linnaeus Tripe kam im April 2008 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 27.400,00 (€ 17.600,21) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Linnaeus Tripe auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Views of India, Indonesia and Myanmar (Burma), c. 1858 im September 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 107.500,00 (€ 91.001,44).
