Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Madura. The Great Pagoda, Interior View of Part of Muroothappa Sarvacar Munduppum, January–February by Linnaeus Tripe was auctioned at Phillips in New York in October 2017. It changed hands for a price of USD 11,875.00 (€ 10,194.88) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Linnaeus Tripe have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Views of India, Indonesia and Myanmar (Burma), c. 1858 in September 2017 with an auction result of USD 107,500.00 (€ 91,001.44).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Madura. The Great Pagoda, Interior View of Part of Muroothappa Sarvacar Munduppum, January–February von Linnaeus Tripe kam im Oktober 2017 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 11.875,00 (€ 10.194,88) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Linnaeus Tripe auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Views of India, Indonesia and Myanmar (Burma), c. 1858 im September 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 107.500,00 (€ 91.001,44).
