This artwork by Linnaeus Tripe achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in April 2017. In the The Odyssey of Collecting: Photographs from Joy of Giving Something Foundation, Part 2 auction, the work The Causeway Across Vaigai River, Madura sold for USD 25,000.00 (€ 22,946.31) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Linnaeus Tripe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Views of India, Indonesia and Myanmar (Burma), c. 1858, which sold at auction in September 2017 for USD 107,500.00 (€ 91,001.44).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Linnaeus Tripe erzielte im April 2017 bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Odyssey of Collecting: Photographs from Joy of Giving Something Foundation, Part 2 wurde die Arbeit The Causeway Across Vaigai River, Madura für USD 25.000,00 (€ 22.946,31) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Linnaeus Tripe mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Views of India, Indonesia and Myanmar (Burma), c. 1858 beobachtet, die im September 2017 für USD 107.500,00 (€ 91.001,44) versteigert wurde.
