Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Reading by Lilla Cabot Perry was sold in the Important American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture auction at Christies in New York in May 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 62,500.00 (€ 50,549.98) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lilla Cabot Perry - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Girl Reading A Book, which sold at auction in November 2017 for USD 150,000.00 (€ 126,071.61).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Reading von Lilla Cabot Perry wurde im Mai 2012 in der Auktion Important American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 62.500,00 (€ 50.549,98) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Lilla Cabot Perry mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Girl Reading A Book beobachtet, die im November 2017 für USD 150.000,00 (€ 126.071,61) versteigert wurde.
