This artwork by Lilla Cabot Perry achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2019. In the American Art auction, the work Reading sold for USD 125,000.00 (€ 111,328.82) - well above the upper estimate of USD 70,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Lilla Cabot Perry; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Girl Reading A Book sold at auction in November 2017 with the realized price of USD 150,000.00 (€ 126,071.61).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Lilla Cabot Perry erzielte im März 2019 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion American Art wurde die Arbeit Reading für USD 125.000,00 (€ 111.328,82) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 70.000,00.
