Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Lewis Carroll could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in April 2012 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Photographs auction, the work 'Sleepless' (Xie Kitchin) changed hands for USD 7,500.00 (€ 5,669.36) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lewis Carroll achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Alexandra Kitchin in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 133,000.00 (€ 85,431.65).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Lewis Carroll konnte im April 2012 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Photographs wechselte die Arbeit 'Sleepless' (Xie Kitchin) für USD 7.500,00 (€ 5.669,36) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lewis Carroll erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Alexandra Kitchin im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 133.000,00 (€ 85.431,65).
