A top price for Lewis Carroll
In April 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction The Quillan Collection of Nineteenth and Twentieth Century Photographs, which included the work Alexandra Kitchin by Lewis Carroll. Here, the upper estimate of USD 120,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 133,000.00 (€ 85,431.65). With this result, Alexandra Kitchin is even the most expensive work of art by Lewis Carroll that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis für Lewis Carroll
Im April 2008 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion The Quillan Collection of Nineteenth and Twentieth Century Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Alexandra Kitchin von Lewis Carroll zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 120.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 133.000,00 (€ 85.431,65) einen neuen Besitzer. Mit diesem Ergebnis ist Alexandra Kitchin sogar das teuerste Kunstwerk von Lewis Carroll, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
