Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 11.875,00 (€ 10.899,50) und damit 32% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lewis Carroll auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Alexandra Kitchin im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 133.000,00 (€ 85.431,65).
