Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Two views of Spencer House by Leslie Worth was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2010, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,375.00 (€ 1,653.28). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Leslie Worth - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Boy And Bicycle, which sold at auction in November 2006 for GBP 4,320.00 (€ 6,415.34).
