Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Leslie Worth achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Olympia in November 2006. In the 20th Century British and Irish Art auction, the work Lighting Cigarettes sold for GBP 2,880.00 (€ 4,276.89) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Leslie Worth; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Boy And Bicycle sold at auction in November 2006 with the realized price of GBP 4,320.00 (€ 6,415.34).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Leslie Worth erzielte im November 2006 bei Sothebys in Olympia einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century British and Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Lighting Cigarettes für GBP 2.880,00 (€ 4.276,89) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.200,00.
