It achieved a price of USD 138,600.00 (€ 129,158.51), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 54%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Leonora Carrington achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Garden of Paracelsus in May last year with an auction result of USD 3,256,500.00 (€ 3,034,665.92).

Die Arbeit The Saints of Hampstead Heath von Leonora Carrington wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modern Day Auction bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 138.600,00 (€ 129.158,51) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 54%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Leonora Carrington erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Garden of Paracelsus im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.256.500,00 (€ 3.034.665,92).
